Kathie is the Virtual Assistant Queen! Founder of Australia’s first Virtual Assistant Network in 1996, she registered her own business “A Clayton’s Secretary” in 1994.
Kathie is a Virtual Assistant Coach & Trainer and has trained and mentored many VAs during the life of her business. Additionally, she is an award-winning author and many times published in business and women’s magazines.
Kathie was twice nominated for “Australian of the Year” (2008 & 2009). Listed in Australia’s Who’s Who of Women 2010- 2017. She began her business to be at home for her 5 young daughters. Today both Kathie and Graham both work-at-home and the daughters are grown and married. They currently have 7 grandchildren and enjoy the freedom working from home gives in being able to spend time with their extended family.

Tip: Networking is utmost and paramount. It means connecting with and learning about other people and what they’re doing. It’s not just about swapping business cards and moving to the next person. It’s is very, very much about learning about people and what their interests and needs are.
Tip: When people have seen you 2 or 3 times face-to-face they really start to feel like they know you. They’re getting to know you as a person because they’re getting to see your mannerisms, the way you operate, the way you respond to things. They can read your body language and they feel that they trust you.
Secret: Set aside time dedicated to coming up with new ideas or starting new conversations online or going out and meeting people.
Secret: Hire a coach: a business coach can help brainstorm; life coach focus on you as a person, looking outside of the business and getting a balance in life; the virtual assistant coach can help get your business off the ground and learn the ins and outs of being a virtual assistant.
